Tempo Run

Hey girls! Our first BBC Tempo run is tomorrow night (01/14/09).

Location: G.Lake Track (we'll be moving this location in the future if there's threat of rude sprinters nearby).
Time: 7:00 pm SHARP

There will be dinner at Lauren's afterwards!! Yum....

  1. So...we are doing the 5x3 described in the article? What is that exactly...I don't get it...

  2. Here is my interpretation, lar:

    1. 10 minute warm up.
    2. Run 3 minutes at 40 seconds above 5-K pace. (I'm gonna try it at 7.0 mph on treadmill--you guys are all faster runners than me so can probably go faster--basically it should feel pretty hard)
    3. Then 60 seconds light jog (recover)
    4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for 4 more times.
    5. 10 minute cool down

  4. Man...I need a running watch for this...maybe I'll try it on the treadmill tonight since everyone is sick or working. It should be fun in my ridiculously humid gym!

  5. Funny you should mention that! I recently ordered a running watch through Amazon cuz i've been having a hard time gauging speed and distances...its not as big and bulky as the Garmin and not as pricey either, but still got pretty decent reviews. I'll let you know what I think of it after it arrives! It's probably garbage...

    P.S. Boy am I raking up the GOLD stars!!! Go America!
